GIVING THANKS
We always seem to take stock of our Florist & Flower Delivery. Whether it’s the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday or a sudden and sharp change in the weather, this ember has been lit. I think we’re more likely to change in November and December than in January when a lot of people make resolutions and say “this is the year” to show that they want to start over.
2020 has been different, overwhelming, confusing, and just plain frustrating this year.
Juniper Flowers will be there for you as things change. Covid19 has done a lot of harm. We are thinking about everyone and doing the best we can to get through the storm. We are here for you, and the best thing we do is help you show how you feel through flowers. No matter what the occasion is, our designers put their hearts and souls into the flowers they make.
Let Thanksgiving be a time to think about the past year and hope for the next. Visit our website to see the table decorations and gifts you can send to your loved ones. For an extra special touch, we write each enclosure card by hand. You can also add a scented candle and chocolates to your order.
Every day of the week, our team is here to help you. We can help you choose a great floral arrangement in Florist & Flower Delivery
Mulled Wine floral with candles and greens on the table
We love putting evergreens on everything for the holidays. Douglas fir, princess pine, western red cedar, and juniper berries are some of our favorites. We are making a few different types of winter wreaths that can be used indoors or outdoors, as well as a lot of cedar garland to decorate with.
A fresh half-moon hoop wreath made of evergreens with dried elements
Evergreens make the room smell great, and smell is a big part of the holidays. Every time the front door opens, you can smell delicious cookies and treats coming from the kitchen, and the scent of an evergreen wreath is carried on the cold winter breeze. Putting fresh cloves under the skin of orange was my favorite. How sweet and spicy that smelled! Check out this link to the Old Farmer’s Almanac to learn how to make pomanders with oranges and cloves that smell good.
With a variety of great gift crates, we’re making it very easy to buy gifts in Florist & Flower Delivery
We’ve found the best candles, chocolates, scents, and fun holiday extras to add that special touch. We’ve put together some of our items so that they are all the same color, some so that they have a very traditional winter feel, and some so that they are as cool as can be! Here are some of our favorites….
Not only do the holidays smell nostalgic, but they also sound, taste, and, of course, make you feel nostalgic. When I think of winter, I remember driving home from a relative’s house in New England on an old back road. When my family and I left a Christmas party, about a half foot of snow had fallen. You already know what I’m about to say, right? The low crunch crunch of car tires through the snow. It was such a sensory experience to not only hear it but also feel it under your feet.
There were also other interesting things to do that night. One of the horses owned by the host was named Nutmeg.
Just the name made me think of the holidays. The smell of fresh hay in the barn mixed with the smell of traditional Swedish Glogg that was simmering on the stovetop and drifting out of a cracked kitchen window. I can’t say for sure that this recipe is good, but I found it on Allrecipes if you want to try it.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday!
We’re putting together fresh designer pumpkins, succulents, and dried plants. This is a great way to decorate a table for autumn. Flowers and succulents are stuck to the top of the pumpkin, so it didn’t need to be carved. As long as your pumpkin isn’t broken or has holes in it, you should be able to use it as a decoration for a while.
Autumn Moon Wall Hanging ( Florist & Flower Delivery )
Our half-moon hoop collection includes this dried plant wall hanging. These are made on a gold-colored metal hoop that is 12″ in diameter. Our hope is that these will add some warmth and light to your home. They come with a length of silk ribbon in neutral colors that can be used to hang on the wall or placed on a mantle or shelf with photos and other fall decorations. (Like our pumpkins!)
Wedding Bouquet for Fall
Our option for picking up flowers for a quick wedding is still going strong. Even though it’s been raining more, we’re thinking about weddings. Our couples are rocking whatever life throws at them, no matter the weather. If you had to cancel your wedding because of Covid, or if you put it off without knowing when you can get married again, but you still want to… Give us a call or send us an email and we’ll talk about how you can pick up a few items, like a bouquet, boutonnieres, corsages, or flower crowns.
Using both fresh and dried plants in Florist & Flower Delivery
“Gimme Texture” is a good name for the photo above. We put together fresh flowers and leaves with dried and preserved plant parts like palm leaves, Lunaria, bunny tails, and preserved eucalyptus. Once the fresh flowers have died, you can use these ones again. Make sure to clean your vase first, and then you can use it to hold the dried elements that came with the original design. If you want to add more fresh flowers and plants, you can stop by our shop in Fremont and pick some up. Or, if you’d rather have them delivered, you can choose from our “Bundle of Blooms” or “Autumn Bundle” options and do a little DIY. Check it out!
Amber Sky
Amber Sky is like the golden and rusty colors of fall. It smells of fresh, crisp eucalyptus. We add a touch of blush peach and burgundy for a design that is perfect for the season. This look is finished off with our geo vase, which goes well with a rose, cabernet, or sparkling seltzer. Put the table together and pour yourself a drink…more
